About The Owner

Heeeeeeey, y'all!!  I'm Ashley aka "A.D." I was born and raised in Richmond, VA. I have a B.A. in English (Journalism), a MBA in accounting, am an ACE certified group fitness instructor and I am a devastating, and oh so impactful, diva of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.(HCAC, Spring 2023)!

I started dance fitness as a student and was encouraged to enter the realm as an instructor. The fear of not being taken serious because I was a "fat teacher" weighed on my nerves, but even still, I tried to find my way through various dance fitness certifications. Nothing stuck. I couldn't relate to the thinness selling point of classes and culturally, I felt left out and from simply wanting to find my tribe, Trap Cardio was born.

So here I am...
I’m an enthusiastic fitness instructor who is passionate about bringing wellness to urban communities as I share my own struggles with weight -- stemming from childhood. I have been as heavy as 325lbs and as low as 189. My wellness journey has always been motivated by my father’s passing in 2005 due to Type 2 Diabetes. As a wife, mom, and college graduate, I also share my bootstrapping entrepreneurial journey with my community, as I left a 12-year career in forensic accounting with the federal government to pursue my business.  I offer transparency, grace, and humanity as I encourage others that their present self is to be loved and capable of making their intentions manifest as they work to become greater.
